Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and DISCOVERYHUB LTD, trading as DiscoveryTech Hub ("we", "us", "our"). They govern your use of discoverytechhub.com, academy.discoverytechhub.com (DiscoveryTech Academy), our blog, and related services (together, the "Services").

By using the Services, creating an Academy account or submitting a form, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Paid client work (such as web design, development or digital strategy) is governed by the written quote or agreement we sign with you. If that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the written agreement prevails for that work.

2. Who can use the Services

You must be at least 18 years old to create an Academy account or enter a contract with us. If you are under 18, you may only use the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use. If you use the Services for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

3. What we offer

• Digital services: web development, design and digital strategy for clients.
• The Hub: a bookable multipurpose space in Abuja.
• DiscoveryTech Academy: online ICT and digital-skills courses, including free courses such as our AI for Climate Challenge.
• Website content: information, articles and resources on our website and blog.

4. Academy accounts

• Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account, and you must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
• Accounts are personal. Do not share your account or sell, transfer or lend access.
• If you sign in with Google, you must also follow Google's terms. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us.

5. Academy courses and content

Courses, lessons and tasks are provided for education and general information. We may add, change, pause or withdraw any course or lesson, including free courses, at our discretion.

Course content may use or discuss AI tools and may include AI-assisted material, which can contain errors. Our content on topics such as energy, agriculture, climate or technology is not professional engineering, financial, legal, agronomic or other expert advice. Verify important information and consult a qualified professional before acting on it.

We do not guarantee any particular outcome, such as a job, income, grade or certification, from completing a course.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break any law, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 (as amended);
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts or data, or probe, scan or test their security;
• introduce malware or interfere with the Services, or overload them with automated requests;
• scrape, copy or redistribute our content or course materials without permission;
• impersonate another person or provide false information;
• harass, abuse or defame others, or post unlawful, hateful or infringing material;
• use the Services to send spam or to resell or commercially exploit them without our permission.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit to us (for example reviews, testimonials, forum or task submissions). By submitting content you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and reproduce it to operate and promote the Services, for example publishing a review on our website. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

You confirm that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

8. Our intellectual property

The Services, including our name, logo, website design, course materials, text, graphics and software, belong to DISCOVERYHUB LTD or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-commercial licence to access and use them as intended. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

9. Quotes, bookings and payments

Quotes are estimates until you accept them in writing. Bookings of The Hub are confirmed only when we confirm them to you, and are subject to availability. Prices are shown in Nigerian naira (₦) unless stated otherwise, and any deposit, payment schedule or cancellation terms will be given to you when you book or accept a quote.

Where payment is taken online, it is handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details.

10. Third-party services and links

The Services may rely on or link to third-party services (for example Google, WhatsApp and social platforms). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

11. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that content is complete or current.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to a Service is limited to the amount you paid us for that Service (and for free Services, to the extent the law allows, we have no liability beyond what the law requires).

13. Your responsibility

You agree to compensate us for losses, claims and reasonable costs we suffer because you breached these Terms, broke the law, or infringed someone else's rights through your use of the Services or your content.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Services, or close your account, if you breach these Terms, put others or the Services at risk, or if we stop offering a Service. You may stop using the Services or delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law) will survive termination.

15. Changes to the Services and these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. If we make a material change, we will tell you through the website or by email. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. If we cannot, the courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

17. General

• Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy and any written agreement with you are the whole agreement about the Services.
• Severability: if a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• No waiver: if we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up.
• Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a business transfer.
• Events beyond our control: we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or network outages.
